ABOUT

My job is to tell stories with sound.

I am an audio engineer and composer based in Maine. My work asks the question: what role does sound play in combating climate change? In an ongoing attempt to answer this question, I create music from environmental sources and found-sounds. I have made music from glaciers, geothermal energy sources, household objects and the sounds of bicycling across the USA, among many other sources.

I also mix commercials and films, write music for visual media and produce albums.

If you'd like to collaborate, please do not hesitate to reach out! You'll find me at charlesvankirk@gmail.com.
